Green Chile Sauce


Serve this mildly spicy green chile sauce on top of burritos, enchiladas…any of your favorite Mexican or Southwestern dishes.  The sauce is also great on burgers, eggs, grilled chicken, fish, pork or steak.

Serves: 4
  1. Drain chile.
  2. Heat oil in large saucepan. Add onion and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add garlic and saute briefly, then add flour or cornstarch and mix for 1 minute.
  4. Pour in broth, salt, pepper, bring to a boil stirring constantly. Turn down the heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add half the jar of green chile to a blender and beat until smooth, mix into broth. Add the other half of the jar directly to the sauce, heat through, and serve.
